Fagus Psychology offers psychological support, training, and consultation centring on gender-affirming care and LGBTIQA+ mental health.
Fagus Psychology is named after the Fagus tree, Australia’s only native winter-deciduous tree, which is said to have been in lutruwita for 40 million years. The 'turning of the Fagus,' when the leaves change from green to gold, red, and brown before being blown away by the wind, serves as a metaphor for the shifts that trans and gender-diverse people experience during gender affirmation throughout their lives.
Fagus Psychology is located on muwinina country in nipaluna, lutruwita, otherwise known as Hobart, Tasmania. Fagus Psychology acknowledges and pays respect to the traditional and rightful custodians of lutruwita, the palawa people, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders throughout Australia.
